I wake up when..

My alarm wakes me up – it’s quite a fancy one which mimics the sunrise and lights up my bedroom. I was never a morning person before purchasing this!

 

I’m responsible for…

The sales and marketing for the venue – we host almost 900 events a year so there’s always a lot going on!

 

I got the job…

In January 2018 – I come from an event management background and studied at University of Winchester.

 

My typical day…

Involves meeting with clients, monitoring our social media channels and a lot of emails!

 

The most memorable moment at work…

We had a Royal Visit from HRH The Princess Royal in January which was very exciting! Working with the event organisers and the police to ensure everything went smoothly was really rewarding.

 

The best part of my job…

I love getting positive feedback from clients after their events – some events are months or even years in the making so being able to turn the client’s vision into reality is really rewarding! A client recently sent me a letter to say thank you which brought a tear to my eye!

 

After work…

I volunteer for a not for profit networking organisation for young professionals so spend a lot of my free time organising events – much like the day job!

 

If I didn’t work here I’d…

Definitely still be working within events – I’ve worked on a lot of festivals before so maybe something in that area. I really enjoy working on the music events we host at the Guildhall – like the Martin Kemp DJ night and Jo Whiley Presents 90’s Anthems.
